One thing I'm undecided about it the tuners.

I have two options to me. I have chrome schaller's or the gold gotoh's from the group buy with black buttons.

I'm pretty sure I'll go with the gotoh's.....

What do you folks think?

Yes, That cedar/maple guitar of Dave's is really mine, he just hasn't sent it to me yet,I keep asking him!

You might consider cherry for the neck as well, right about the correct colour palette and a great neck wood.
Dave -- I happily stand corrected....though sycamore isn't maple is it? I've found the eastern maple we have here in North America as well as the western big leaf to be heavier than most mahogany except maybe African Mahogany.

I do like the look of that sycamore neck.
Anthony,

European sycamore is a maple Acer pseudoplatanus. Confusingly what is called Sycamore in North America is what we call London Plane and is not a maple.

Rod,

I am biased and would go for Gotoh with ebony buttons. I love Gotohs but personally don't like the shape of the 510's. I use gold Gotoh SG301's and buy the ebony replacement buttons from LMI.

Colin,

One day we will meet up and you shall have the guitar. But only for an hour or so. It is most definitely my "squezze" at the moment. Dave White39073.7456365741

Of course I want it all! I'm currently using cherry for a neck after Russell turned me on to it, I like it so much I've bought a big stash of neck stock.

This one is for a walnut/Euro OM.

Mind you, I''ve got some beautiful curly mahogany necks as well!

Colin

Rod, i'm so very late here bro but you are doing major quick progress, that combo reminds me of mine and Dave's somehow!

Love the sound of cedar when tapped and the ebony will look awesome against the maple when finished, great job on the mitres too my brother!

Rod this top bracing is very Olsonish, and should be a great guitar. Where did you get that beautiful maple? Nice execution on the side purflings. Merry Christmas, Bruce

Thanks guys. I have some high hopes for the sound on this one.

You are correct Bruce, I certainly tend to be a big Olson fan and construct much of my guitars after his. Only another 1000 or so to go and I might be close .

The maple came from our friend Jason Voth at CV tonewoods. They live about 35 mins drive from me and I've been up to see them several times. I have a bunch of maple and cedar from them (this is one of there tops). They sure have great stock and I sure wish Jay was back with us here, but alas, he's off in oil country working hard.

Merry Christmas to you too Bruce.

Thanks Serge my friend, better late than never they say .

Thanks Peter, and thanks for the Cali "Dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"    Got your email, thanks and Merry Christmas to you too my friend.

Rod! That looks fantastic my friend! I really like the ebony binding scheme... Very cool!

That maple is to die for! But hey, I'd expect as much from a Canuck builder!

Great work on the mitered purflings. Nice and tight!

So.... String her up already!!!
